Field Service Technician – D.C.

Responsibilities:   

  • Complete preventative maintenance and other required services on light and heavy-duty specialized destruction/industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Complete installations and integrations of customized destruction solutions.
  • Assemble and erect ductwork and other ancillary items to support above installations.
  • Assemble and recondition machines/equipment.
  • Review and perform electrical troubleshooting.
  • Communicate verbally and in written form to external customers, as well as internal levels.
  • Complete service reports and basic computer reports.
  • Complete internal FAT’s.
  • 75% travel both domestically and internationally, in addition to local service work in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical skills background
  • Electrical experience a plus
  • Service/manufacturing experience, minimum of 1 year preferred
  • Ability to problem solve at a technical level
  • Read mechanical and electrical drawings a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a team player
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with attention to detail
  • Current driver license and safe driver record
  • Must be able to pass a rigorous background check
  • Proficient computer and strong basic math skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance and passport
  • Able to work eight hour shits, Monday to Friday
  • Secret security clearance preferred

Press Brake Operator

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Press Brake Operator supports Production operations through various channels to include part bending using a CNC Press Brake, inspection, polishing, conducting quality checks, reading blueprints, assisting in finishing operations, and moving finished product to S&R for final shipment. This role will provide exposure to all areas of the business depending on the demands and needs of the operation. The priority will be to support plant operations to ensure quality products are manufactured and shipped on time. This role requires someone with a keen attention to detail and conduct various tasks in a changing environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Effective use of a CNC Press Brake to form various metal parts (carbon steel, stainless and aluminum).
  • Efficient use of measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
  • Efficient interpretation of blueprints, symbols and tolerances.
  • Support other fabricator duties as needed. 

Responsibilities:   

  • Safely and efficiently set-up and operate an 12ft, 220-ton Press Brake.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into the machine.
  • Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
  • Check height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.
  • Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
  • Work with tight tolerance.
  • Perform self-inspection on the first produced part and verify quality throughout the production run.
  • Produce parts for assembly operations and identify assembly parts.
  • Perform inspections & quality checks using measuring tools such as tape measures, caliper, etc.
  • Responsible for performing other tasks, including cleaning, deburring, polishing, and straightening metal parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Produce quality products in an efficient / productive manner.
  • Responsible for performing a variety of sub-tasks directly related to the fabrication and assembly of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet and plate products such as drilling, tapping, post-machining, deburring, and polishing when required.
  • Assist with cleaning, wrapping, moving, loading, and preparing completed products for shipment.
  • Switch between job tasks / orders when necessary.
  • Follow company safety procedures and best practices. 
  • Follow verbal and written directions.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Experience:

  • 2+ experience successfully operating a Press Brake
  • 2+ years sheet metal fabrication experience

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school or equivalent (Required).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English (written and oral).
  • This position requires computer competency and willingness to operate industrial machinery.
  • Physical ability: pushing, pulling, sitting, or standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, and hold self accountable. 
  • Must work well independently and in a team environment, be results-orientated, and be able to adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines.

Senior Service Technician

SEM is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Service Technician to join our service team in our Westborough, MA office. The Senior Service Technician is a key member of the service team and must be a confident communicator with a friendly attitude, ensuring each customer enjoys an outstanding experience at every interaction. An ideal candidate will problem solve naturally, enjoy traveling to customer sites, and love having unique challenges to solve for our customers every day. The Senior Service Technician will report to the Service Manager and work with a team of service technicians who travel both domestically and internationally, with the opportunity to lead projects and other junior technicians in-house.

Responsibilities:

  • 50% travel, both domestic and international, with flexibility

Qualifications:

  • Electromechanical background with proficient mechanical skills.
  • Electrical experience. Being a licensed electrician is a plus.
  • Service/manufacturing experience, minimum of 5 years preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve at a technical level.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with diligence.
  • Current driver’s license and safe driver record.
  • Must be able to pass a rigorous background check.
  • Proficient computer skills and strong basic math skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance and Passport.

Lead Operator/CNC Punch Press

Essential Duties:

  • Set-up and operate Amada 2510 NT CNC Punch Press
  • Program parts using (G/M Codes)
  • Recommend require tooling for new parts
  • Support other fabricator duties as needed

Major Responsibilities:   

  • Take all necessary precautions to work safely, follow all safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Cross-train on Press Brake; operate depending on Production schedule.
  • Complete value-added processes such as drilling, tapping, post-machining, deburring and polishing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on processing equipment.
  • Properly use and read measurement equipment and gauges (calipers, tapes, etc.)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information on blueprints.
  • Strong math skills (Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations).
  • Safely move and handle large, heavy metal sheets, plates, and parts using proper equipment.
  • Verify conformance of parts to specification. 1st article and lot inspection.
  • Assist with the organization, identification, count verification, pre-packaging, and closure of work orders with Purchasing and Shipping departments.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school or equivalent. (Required)
  • Computer competency and willingness to operate industrial machinery. (Required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English, both written and orally.
  • Physical ability: pushing, pulling, sit, or stand for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to operate a CNC Punch Press.
  • Ability to effectively program using 3i, SMP or other G/M code software.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, and hold self-accountable.
  • Must work well independently and in a team environment and be results-orientated and be able to adapt quickly to change and work under tight deadlines.

Experience:

  • 2+ experience with metal fabrication experience
  • Knowledge of G code and AP100, 3i or SMP a STRONG plus
  • Solid understanding of Press Brake, CNC, Shears, Turrets
  • Manufacturing: 2 years (Required)
  • CNC programming: 1 year (Required)
